With 2 continents, 5 countries and 11 cities ticked off over an INCREDIBLE summer, it’s time to knuckle down and get back to reality! Owh!
…And the reality is that my final year at University is looming, so I have put together my top 3 ways to keep motivated and get through the final push.
Establish a Purpose
For me, (alongside finding my dream job!) my purpose will now be maintaining my online brand: the blog, twitter, pinterest and keeping on top of what’s going on, particularly in the marketing world. I am definitely someone that likes to have a reason to get out of bed in the morning, I want to see a fulfilment for what I’m doing. And for me, a uni assignment doesn’t quite fulfil that purpose, so this year I hope that keeping that passion going, and striving for a career, will help to focus me on completing uni and coming out with a strong degree.
Take Time Out
At University it can be hard to get into a routine as there are never set times for work and play – which is fine when it’s all play, but when that flips it’s hell! I hope that after a year in the working world I will be able to create a better balance at Uni, and not let the pressures of final year run away with me too much. Making plans and day trips will definitely be on the agenda, working through stress probably isn’t going to gain those extra marks, but giving yourself time to take a breath and reinvigorate might give you a better chance!
During my placement year I took it upon myself to try to gain as much knowledge from industry specialists as I could, both through the company, and externally. Being inspired by new elements of the marketing world and being able to see these come to life through my role excited me for how a future job role could look.
My next goal is to become fluent in Spanish! Okay, maybe fluent is a little far-fetched, but I intend to develop on my GCSE knowledge before I have forgotten it all.
